Before the advent of CNC grinding machines many fluted burs, cutters, rasps, diamond ground sawblades, reamers and drill tips were produced by hand. Still today this is not an uncommon practice. It takes many years of experience, steady hands and an acute eye for establishing clean, uniform and consistently sharp cutting edges. Surprisingly tight tolerances for lip relief angles, chisel angles, flute depths and grind patterns can be maintained. This service is ideal for low volume production and or prototyping where cost and lead time is critical.
